Peripheral neuropathy is damage to the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. It causes sensations ranging from numbness and tingling to burning, stabbing, or electric shock-like pain. A 2018 review in Molecules analyzed preclinical and clinical data on CBD for neuropathic pain and found consistent anti-nociceptive effects in animal models with promising early human data.
