Why We Farm This Way in Kentucky
We've grown hemp here since 2018, and the land sets the terms. Central Kentucky sits on limestone-rich soil with a real four-season climate, which is a big part of why this region grew hemp long before any of us showed up. Good ground is the asset, and a farm that mines it for one big season is a farm that's borrowing against next year.
So our approach is built around leaving the soil as good as or better than we found it. Then we hang-dry slowly over about two weeks, with the temperature and humidity controlled, instead of force-drying for speed.
The slow cure is the unglamorous part that decides quality. Rush it and you trade away aroma and smoothness for a faster turnaround. We'd rather wait, and the cure is one more place where the patient choice and the sustainable choice line up.
After the cure, we hand-trim each batch. That keeps a person's eyes on the flower at the last step, sorting out anything that doesn't belong before it gets to you.
